The second edition of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League (UGCFL) was officially launched on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the University of Ghana Stadium VIP Lounge.
The press launch brought together participating corporate institutions, specially invited guests and members of the media to unveil plans for the 2026 season, which is scheduled to run from February to June.
The event marked the formal commencement of activities for another highly anticipated edition of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League.
Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority, Dr. Fred Awaah, expressed confidence that the competition will grow even bigger in the coming years and called on more corporate bodies to get involved.

“We believe that in the years to come, this league should take on a bigger dimension. Nothing succeeds in this era without collaboration.
"You may have your strengths, but the strengths of others will complement yours. We are therefore calling on corporate Ghana, together with the University of Ghana, the National Sports Authority and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, to work together to enhance sports in this country,” he said.
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, also urged companies that missed out on this year’s edition to begin early registration for the next season.
“If you are not part of this edition, I urge you to start your registration now for next year because it will get so big there will be a cut-off point. So I encourage companies to register early, because the league will only get bigger and better,” she noted.
Following a season filled with passion, intensity and memorable moments in 2025, the 2026 UG Corporate Football League promises a stronger, more competitive and professionally organised competition.
The tournament is set to kick off on February 13, 2026, with matches to be played every Friday evening from 5pm to 10pm at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, providing consistent football action for fans and stakeholders throughout the season
