A six-member delegation from the Defence Intelligence Unit of the Togolese Armed Forces has paid a working visit to Ghana’s Department of Defence Intelligence at Burma Camp as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The visit, which took place on Wednesday, February 4, was aimed at enhancing intelligence sharing and deepening collaboration between the two armed forces, particularly in response to emerging security threats within the sub-region.
As part of the programme, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai.

During the engagement, AVM Mensah-Larkai welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit, assuring them of the Ghana Armed Forces’ commitment to ensuring a productive engagement.
He reaffirmed Ghana’s readiness to continue working closely with partner institutions through intelligence sharing to support both immediate operational needs and long-term security partnerships.

Leading the Togolese delegation, Colonel Panakinao Ayawo, Director of Defence Intelligence of the Togolese Armed Forces, underscored the importance of strengthened collaboration and information exchange, describing them as critical tools in addressing the growing threat of terrorism along West African borders.
The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Stephen Woseadzikpo Kweku Parbey, said the visit would further deepen trust, enhance cooperation and consolidate bilateral relations between the armed forces of the two countries.

He noted that closer collaboration would enable both units to harness their collective expertise, align strategies and improve their effectiveness in promoting regional security and shared interests.
