The Amasaman High Court has reduced the prison sentence handed to controversial evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, from 15 years to one year, after ruling that the original punishment was excessive.
While the court upheld her conviction, it exercised its discretionary powers to review the sentence, concluding that although the offence warranted a custodial term, the 15-year sentence with hard labour was disproportionate to the circumstances of the case.
In addition to the reduced jail term, the court imposed a fine of 200 penalty units, equivalent to GH¢2,400.
The revised sentence takes effect from the date of her conviction on July 3, 2025, meaning Nana Agradaa will serve a total of 12 months in prison.
