The Member of Parliament for Tano North, Dr Gideon Boako, has announced plans to reconstruct the Yamfo Market as part of efforts to improve trading conditions and accelerate development in the constituency.
The MP made the announcement during a courtesy call on the Chiefs and Elders at the Yamfo Palace, as well as market women in the area.
Dr Boako described the visit as a significant milestone in his work as MP, noting that he sought the blessings and guidance of traditional authorities before formally unveiling the initiative.
“Today marks a significant milestone in my work as the Member of Parliament for the good people of the Tano North Constituency,” he said.
“I am sincerely grateful for the warm reception, guidance, and blessing to proceed with this important initiative.”
According to him, the reconstruction project will provide a modern, safe, and well-organised trading space for traders in Yamfo.
The lawmaker explained that the current state of the market requires urgent intervention to improve sanitation and create a more conducive environment for business activities.
“I have committed to reconstructing the Yamfo Market to provide a modern, safe, and well-organised trading space for our hardworking traders,” Dr Boako stated.
“The project will begin soon and is expected to improve sanitation and enhance business activities.”
The MP reaffirmed his commitment to development in Tano North, pledging to pursue initiatives that uplift livelihoods and strengthen local economic growth.
“As the Member of Parliament, I am determined to bring accelerated development to my people, and I pray to God for the grace to do even more,” he added.
