Following a detailed review, the Cabinet approved the recommendations, alongside specific directives for immediate implementation.
“The committee undertook a comprehensive review of all public land allocations and leases across the country. On the completion of its work, I submitted the committee’s findings and recommendations. These were sent to Cabinet for consideration by His Excellency and Cabinet. A thorough review was undertaken, and I am pleased to announce that Cabinet approved those recommendations with certain key directives for immediate implementation,” Minister Buah stated.
The committee examined a total of 8,160 lease applications executed or initiated across all 16 regions of Ghana. These comprised:
- 4,176 direct land applications
- 2,799 regularisations
- 19 direct allocations to state bungalows, typically processed through the Ministry of Works and Housing
- 108 land swaps or public-private partnership (PPP) arrangements, notably with 88 of these located in the Ashanti Region
