While much of the world marked Valentine's Day with flowers, chocolates, and candlelit dinners, Olive Tower Prayer Ministries (OTPM) chose a deeper celebration of love, one rooted in wisdom, purpose, healing, and transformation.
Under the positioning theme, "Time with Mama Portia," the church hosted a powerful and life-impacting seminar for youths, singles, married couples, and young people in relationships within the Pokuase community and beyond. The event brought together families, friends, and members of sister church Triumphant Word Temple in Afianman, Accra, creating an atmosphere charged with joy, transparency, and heartfelt learning.

The ambience was elegant yet intimate, beautifully arranged decor, warm fellowship, and an engaging setup that encouraged openness and interaction. But beyond the aesthetics, what defined the gathering was the depth of knowledge shared and the spirit of genuine love that permeated the room.

At the heart of the seminar was the Founder and Leader of OTPM, Apostle Dr. (Mrs.) Portia Olivia Lamptey, affectionately called "Mama Portia." With grace and conviction, she challenged participants to redefine love beyond fleeting emotions.
"Love is not just about who makes your heart beat faster," she emphasized. "It is about who helps you build your destiny stronger. If love does not align with purpose, it will eventually lead to pain."
Addressing the youth and singles, she urged them to cultivate self-worth before seeking validation in relationships. "You must know who you are in God before you allow anyone to define your value. When purpose leads, relationships become blessings, not burdens."
To married couples, she spoke candidly about intentionality. "Marriage is not sustained by romance alone. It is sustained by sacrifice, communication, prayer, and forgiveness. Every thriving marriage is a daily decision." Her words resonated deeply, sparking reflection and heartfelt responses from attendees who described the session as both sobering and empowering.
Wisdom Rooted in Experience
The Church Mother of OTPM, Mrs. Eunice Odei, delivered a touching message centered on character, patience, and emotional maturity.

Mrs. Akutor, speaking to both singles and married women, stressed the importance of mutual respect and partnership. "Marriage is not a competition; it is collaboration. Support each other's dreams. Speak life into your spouse. What you nurture grows." Together, they highlighted communication as the heartbeat of any thriving relationship. "Unspoken expectations destroy relationships," they noted. "Talk. Listen. Forgive quickly. Choose peace." Their interactive approach sparked laughter and honest dialogue, making complex issues feel approachable and practical.
A Community United in Love
The presence of members from Triumphant Word Temple underscored the unity and shared commitment among churches to raise emotionally intelligent, spiritually grounded individuals.

Participants asked questions which were answered by the resource persons. They described the seminar as "eye- opening," "transformational," and "timely," especially in a world where social media often distorts the meaning of love and commitment.
What set the event apart was its multi-dimensional approach: addressing emotional intelligence, spiritual grounding, communication skills, self-development, and marital responsibility, all within a warm, celebratory Valentine's Day atmosphere.
Love with Depth, Direction, and Destiny
As the program drew to a close, one message stood tall above all others: love must be intentional.
"Do not settle for love that weakens you," Apostle Dr. Lamptey reminded the gathering. "Choose love that strengthens your purpose, sharpens your vision, and honors God."
In a society where Valentine's Day can sometimes reduce love to fleeting gestures, Olive Tower Prayer Ministries offered something far more enduring, wisdom for the heart, tools for relationships, and a renewed commitment to building homes and futures anchored in faith and understanding.
Indeed, February 14, 2026, in Pokuase was more than a celebration of romance. It was a celebration of responsibility, growth, healing, and hope.
And for many who attended, "Time with Mama Portia" was not just an event, it was a turning point.
