The Black Starlets recorded a narrow 1-0 victory over Division One League leaders Port City FC in a preparatory friendly ahead of the upcoming U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Captain Joseph Narbi proved the difference, finishing off a slick team move shortly after kickoff to score what turned out to be the only goal of the game.
His early strike settled the Starlets and set up a competitive contest that offered a useful test of the team’s organisation and sharpness for head Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum’s side.
Port City, who currently lead Zone Three, responded with purpose, pressing high and maintaining a disciplined structure in possession.
Their intensity pushed the national U17 side to stay compact and focused throughout the encounter.
The match forms part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in April, with the technical team prioritising competitive friendlies to fine-tune match fitness and assess squad depth.
The Starlets are expected to take on Semper Fi later as part of plans to ensure adequate game time for the entire squad while simulating tournament conditions.
