The Office of the Ga Mantse has confirmed that King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II was involved in a vehicle accident in the Oti Region on Tuesday evening, February 17, 2026, while returning to Accra from an urgent mission.
In an official statement, the Palace assured the public that there were no casualties from the incident.
“With the grace of God, there were no casualties, and with Police assistance and the support of his aides on board the vehicles involved, everyone was successfully evacuated to Accra,” the statement said.

Following the evacuation, the Ga Mantse and all others involved underwent medical examinations in Accra and were discharged in stable condition.
The Palace further indicated that His Royal Majesty and his aides are responding well to continuous medical monitoring and are making steady progress in their recovery.
“The King and all those involved are making good recovery according to continuous medical monitoring,” the statement added, noting that they are expected to resume their normal duties soon.
King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II has expressed his appreciation to the evacuation team, his aides, and the many well-wishers who offered prayers and support after news of the accident emerged.
The Palace emphasised that the swift response by security personnel and aides was critical to ensuring the safe evacuation and medical care of all involved.
