A young man identified as Sammy, popularly known as Tompoo, has lost his life in a tragic motorbike accident at Abenaso in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred when Sammy was reportedly riding through the area and encountered a slippery pothole on the road.
According to reports, the impact caused the motorbike to skid, resulting in him losing control and crashing. The severity of the accident left him with critical injuries.
Bystanders and residents who rushed to the scene quickly arranged for him to be transported to the New Abirem Government Hospital for medical attention, where he was confirmed dead.
Some residents have also expressed concerns about the condition of roads in the area, particularly the presence of potholes, which they say pose serious risks to motorists and other road users.
They are appealing to authorities responsible for road maintenance to take urgent steps to fix damaged sections of roads to help prevent similar accidents.
