H.E. Youssouf paid tribute to President Zeroual as a steadfast statesman whose life was marked by sacrifice, dignity, and an unwavering commitment to the sovereignty and unity of Algeria. He noted that Zeroual’s leadership during a critical period in Algerian history reflected courage, restraint, and a deep sense of responsibility to his people and nation.
The Chairperson also acknowledged Algeria’s enduring role as a pillar of Pan-Africanism and a champion of continental solidarity, liberation, and self-determination. He highlighted that the late President’s dedication to peace, stability, and national reconciliation resonates deeply with the African Union’s vision of an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful continent.
“President Zeroual’s legacy will continue to inspire generations of Africans committed to peace, unity, and the principles of self-determination,” H.E. Youssouf said, adding, “May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
