Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2028 presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church for his support of the church over the years.
The award was presented to Dr Bawumia during the church’s 3rd Biennial Conference held at Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School in Cape Coast.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, August 23, Dr Bawumia expressed gratitude to the church for the recognition, describing the honour as a testament to what can be achieved through collective efforts to uplift communities and serve God and country.

“I am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful to the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church for the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to me,” he said, adding that the recognition was in appreciation of the support he had provided to the church over the years.

Dr Bawumia also expressed appreciation to Bishop Hilliard Dogbe, whom he described as a “dear brother and friend” and “a great man of God”.

He said the recognition would strengthen his commitment to contributing to the upliftment of vulnerable people and called for continued efforts to serve society with integrity and purpose.

“May God use us all to uplift the poor and vulnerable in our society. God bless our homeland Ghana,” Dr Bawumia added.
