The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia in the Eastern Region, Baba Jamal who is also Deputy Minister of Employrnent and Labour Relations, has donated a computer, UPs, a printer and accessories to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) office in Akwatia.
The donation was made during a visit to the NPP office to interact with the party's constituency executives to find out how best the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and NPP can come together to develop Akwatia.

The gesture was also aimed at fostering peace and unity between NDC and NPP supporters in the area.
"The visit was to solicit your views on how best to develop Akwatia" Baba Jamal said.
Making the donation on Easter Monday, Baba Jamal who has been the only NDC parliamentary candidate for the Akwatia seat since 1996, said he doesn't want a repeat of the conflict, accusations and counter accusations that existed between his supporters on one hand, and the NPP supporters on the other.
He claried however, that, the donation was not to "buy" the minds of the NPP but rather to build bridges between the two political parties so as to minimize the political tension that exists between them.
"We should all ensure that we work together for the truth. We expect peace and unity to reign in the 2016 general elections and not to repeat the kind of conflict and animosity that characterized previous elections in Akwatia" he emphasized.
The NDC Parliamentarain said in all party political campaigns, it was imperative for both NDC and NPP allow truth to be the vanguard during and after the 2016 elections.
Alhaji Baba Yakubu, NPP chairman for Akwatia, was happy with the donation. He said the donation would go a long way to see to the day-to-day secretarial needs of his party.
This would be the second time Baba Jamal has donated to the Akwatia NPP office.
