Porto were hammered humiliated and hounded out of the Uefa champions League by a classy Bayern side at the Allianz arena, Tuesday.
It was a game that held so much promise for the Portuguese side who posted a shock 3-1 victory in the first leg.
But the golden dream of booking their first semi-final place in a decade turned into a horrible nightmare as ruthless Bayern Munich forced six goals through the throats of the dragon and squeezed life out of it.
Porto could only manage a face saving consolation late in the second half.
It was the diminutive Thiago Alcantara who began one of the greatest comeback stories in Europe's elite football competition when he headed home a cross from close range in the 14th minute.
Jerome Boateng in typical fashion also soared above his marker and headed home another cross in the 21st minute, a result that was enough to see them through.
But the Germans were not just in to qualify- they were there to discipline and punish the Portuguese side who were lousy in defence, midfield and in attack.
And in what was a night of headers, Robert Lewandowski, took another bite of the cherry with a powerful header in the 27th minute that left the Portuguese goal keeper Fabiano dazed.
As if to make a horrible night even worse than it already was for the Porto goalkeeper, Thomas Muller had his lame shot deflected and in an embarrassing fashion, the ball crawled through the legs of Fabiano before entering the net.
4-0 it was but Lewondaski had no mercy. He fired in a shot on the 40th minute mark for a brace and Bayern's fifth goal to end the half.
In the second half the German side took their foot off the pedal and allowed the Portuguese side some amount of possession and a goal of little value.
Xabi Alonso dusted things up with the Bayern sixth goal to end the tie 7-4 on aggregate.
