The new Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tawiah III, will not move into the residence at the Ga Mantse Palace in the next six months.
This is to allow for the renovation of the palace, especially the residential section, which has fallen into a state of disrepair.
Nii Tawiah's lawyer, Willie Amarfio explained that the late Ga Mantse, Boni Amugi II was indisposed and he lived in his private residence at Alajo and that accounts for the poor state of the palace.
"The place is in dire need of refurbishment," Mr Amarfio stressed.
He said Nii Tawiah will preside over meetings of Ga Traditional Council at the palace but will reside elsewhere.
He said the paramount stool house at Abola and other related stool houses have already been renovated.
However, Mr Bright Akwetey, counsel for the Abola Piam said: "We are surprised that the government would go as far as to send a delegation of three ministers of state and one high ranking public official, the metropolitan chief to supervise an illegality."
