ECOBANK Ghana Limited is to extend its coverage of African Countries to 21 by close of 2007.
The Bank currently operates in 17 countries on the continent and according to Ramie Baitie, Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager of ECOBANK, the expansion is part of a lofty network roll out.
He was speaking at a Christmas party the bank held for children on admission at the Ridge Hospital in Accra. It was also attended by children from the Tema and Osu Children’s Homes.
Rami Baitie said the Bank had spent about 10 billion cedis in sponsorships on the Ridge Hospital Children’s Ward over the last 10 years.
He said the Bank in 2006 supported the Ward with almost two billion cedis and was ready to sustain the support.
Mr Baitie explained that children were the future of the nation and “they must be supported and nursed adequately to become what they have set their minds on becoming in the future”.
