The Member of Parliament for Atiwa, Dr Charles Brempong-Yeboah, has said it would be important to focus the cedi re-denomination campaign on cocoa growing areas in order to protect cocoa farmers from swindlers. He said the urgency of his call was premised on the fact that some farmers in cocoa growing areas had lost huge sums of money in the past when similar exercises were carried out and care should be taken to ensure that such painful experiences did not recur.Dr Brempong-Yeboah, who is the Deputy Minister for Youth and Employment, said this when interacting with some opinion leaders at Awosoase and Kroboa Akyem as part of a one-week programme to educate his constituents on topical government issues. He told them not to panic when the new currencies become legal tender and they should not deal with any person or group of persons who might wish to change their old currencies into new ones.Source: GNA
