Twenty businesses in Ghana will be awarded this year for passing the quality test and making giant strides in growing the value of their brands, according to Premier Brands Ghana, a business research organisation.
According to the organisation, companies like Ghana Home Loans, Stanbic Bank, Best Western Premier Hotel, Star Assurance, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals, uniBank Ghana Ltd, Golden Bean Hotel, Databank, Utrak Savings and Loans in Kumasi, Tigo, Duraplast, Charter House, and others have in recent times experienced significant growth of their brands.
Ghana Home Loans for example have experienced a brand growth with a very huge number of Ghanaians believing that they are the best option in home financing. This tremendous growth was partly necessitated by the confidence people have developed in their services even in difficult economic times. Tobinco Pharmaceuticals has experienced a positive spill-over effect from the growth of Tobinco Group and the introduction of Lonart Anti Malaria drug that has proven its efficacy in combating malaria in Ghana and beyond.
In the hospitality industry, brands like Best Western Premier Accra Airport Hotel has experienced growth in customer loyalty by over 37.8% predominantly for holiday makers in and around the coastal belt of Ghana while Golden Bean Hotel, a Kumasi based hotel has emerged the fastest growing hotel brand around the middle and the upper sectors of Ghana.
In insurance, Star Assurance Ghana Limited, a privately owned insurance brand has experienced significant and consistent growth since 2012, and still growing. The brand’s value has appreciated to the tune of making it to the top two in the insurance business bracket, according to the CEO of Premier Brands Ghana, Mr. Eric Affaidu.
Mr. Eric Affaidu has confirmed that to support and encourage these outstanding businesses to maintain and sustain their growth, the organisation has set up training programmes to demonstrate how businesses can live and leverage on their brand’s promise to grow, which is the only option to stay in business beyond the 60 years line.
