The Government has authorized the immediate payment of outstanding severance obligations totaling 124 billion cedis to employees of nine divested State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
A statement by Public Relations Unit of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning signed by Ms Cecilia Akwetey said payment would be effected as soon as all the necessary paper work had been completed.
SOEs affected are State Construction Company; GIHOC Pharmaceuticals; Ghana Food Production Company; GIHOC Footwear Company; Pomadze Poultry; Aboso Glass Factory; Bonsa Tyre; GNTC and Ghana Food Distribution Corporation.
The statement said the Divestiture Implementation Committee would pay the severance awards due Ghana Food Distribution Corporation while the rest would be paid form the Government chest.
