Producer inflation in Ghana accelerated to 15.5 percent as mining and manufacturing costs increased, the Ghana Statistical Service said.
Inflation rose from a revised 14.1 percent in August, government statistician Grace Bediako told reporters on Friday in Accra.
Producer prices rose 1.9 percent in the month, compared with a monthly increase of 0.25 percent in August.
Prices in the manufacturing industry, which has a weighting of about 70 percent of the overall index, rose 1.6 percent in the month from an increase of 0.22 percent in August.
Prices in mining and quarrying, which makes up about 14 percent of the index, climbed 2.9 percent in the month, from an unrevised increase of 0.5 percent in August.
Ghana’s consumer price inflation rate fell to 18.4 percent in September from 19.7 percent in August, the service said Oct. 9.
