Child Rights International says it is unhappy with the out-of-court settlement of the case involving the proprietor of the Great Lamptey Mills Institute, Nii Lamptey Mills.
The Executive Director of Child Rights International, Bright Appiah, told Joy News the decision was not in the best interest of the victim.
Mr Lamptey Mills was arrested and charged with impregnating and forcing to marry a 16-year-old girl of the school.
But the court trying the cast last week discharged the accused upon a request by the complainant and father of the child.
Mr Bright Appiah said the complainant put in the bid for an out-of-court settlement because of the possibility that he will be charged for abetment of crime after he agreed to an earlier arrangement that Nii Lamptey Mills will marry and settle the girl after she gave birth.
He contended the action of the father of the victim is based on self-interest.
He has therefore called on the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to not let the matter rest.
The case, he advises, should be taken up to ensure that Mr Lamptey Mills is held to account in order that the best interest of the victim may be served.
Listen to the attached audio for Bright Appiah's concerns.
