Some VIPs in the country, including ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs) are expected to park their cars and join public transport tomorrow Wednesday the 28th of October in commemoration of Public Transport Day.
The National Road Safety Commission and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority have jointly confirmed.
The day is also to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the two institutions.
Director of Planning at the NRSC, Mrs May Obiri-Yeboah, tells Joy News the Ministers of Transport, their deputies and other government officials in particular should join public transport tomorrow to get a firsthand experience of the challenges faced by commuters so they can fix the problems.
Mrs Obiri-Yeboah disclosed that she occasionally parks her car to travel by public transport to come to terms with the difficulties commuters go through.
“A lady got her dress torn when she was getting down from a trotro. One time or the other, we go with this public transport, we see what people go through then we are able to appreciate it better,” she said.
