Three persons have been picked by the police in Kumasi for their roles in some financial malfeasance uncovered at Ghana Post in the Ashanti Region.
The three, Mr George Adjei Manu of the Accounts Department of Ghana Post in the region, Mr Emmanuel Nyarko, Principal Audit Officer and one Mr Mensah were arrested after an internal audit of the company’s accounts revealed some fraud running into tens of thousands of Ghana Cedis.
The General Manager of the company, Mr Yamoah who spoke to Kofi Ansah of Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, confirmed the arrests, and added the suspects are assisting in investigations.
Mr Adjei Manu is alleged to have embezzled GH¢85,000, while Mr Nyarko is suspected to have duped the company of GH¢7,800.
Mr Mensah is also believed to have stolen an unspecified amount of money from the regional postal company.
According to information available to the Super Morning Show, Emmanuel Nyarko absconded following the detection of the fraud.
He was however sniffed out of his hideout in intense search and is now, together with the two others, in the grips of the law.
