The Public Relations Officer of the National Sports Council, Humah Hamid Issakah says adequate security measures have been put in place for the Black Stars final World Cup qualifier against Mali on Sunday.
The match to be held at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi also serves as the Stars’ final game in the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations to be held in Angola. The Black Stars have already qualified for the two tournaments and would be playing for pride after defeating Mali 2:0 in Bamako in the first leg.
Humah Hamid Issakah told Asempa Sports that while the NSC does not anticipate any trouble during the match, the Council is leaving nothing to chance and has therefore put in the best of arrangements to ensure the safety and comfort of football fans and all who will have a role to play on Sunday.
Advance tickets for the game go on sale between Thursday and Saturday, while media houses hoping to cover the match are to apply for accreditation between Thursday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm each day.
The rates for the gates are Popular Stand GH¢5, Centre Line GH¢7, Wings GH¢10 and VIP Main GH¢15
A release by the NSC directed that any media house that intends to cover the match should apply for accreditation on its official letterhead and duly signed. The application should contain the names of a maximum of two reporters who must possess the company’s identity card, and cautioned that under no circumstance will accreditation be issued to any person without an application letter and identity card.
“Media houses should also note that no accreditation will be issued after Saturday, November 14, 2009 after 4.00pm.”
