The hapless situation of Daniel Danso, JHS pupil, is now dire after armed robbers raided his home and made away with GHc12, 000 his father struggled to raise to enable him undergo a knee surgery.
Mr Michael Danso is one of the numerous residents of Amanfrom Toptown in the Ga South Municipal Assembly whose homes were invaded and robbed at gun point on Saturday.
More than 20 houses were attacked in the operation which lasted from about 1am to 4am.
Areas like Galilea, American Farm and Peace Town, Adam Nana were targeted during the operation.
The robbers inflicted machete wounds on some victims and made away with money and other valuables.

The robbers moved from house-to-house asking occupants to surrender their monies and other valuable items, according to one of the victims.
Master Daniel Danso, a final year Junior High School pupil and captain of Barbara Johnson International School football team at Top Town picked a severe knee injury a month ago when his team was playing football.
Daniel’s injury occurred a few days to the BECE final exams which Danso was a candidate but his doctors gave him a special treatment to enable him write the exams. The surgery was therefore fixed for June 27, 2015, the same day the robbery took place at dawn.
Narrating the incident to Myjoyonline.com, his father said he heard an unusual noise around 2am on that Saturday and suspected there could be armed robbers in the house.
According to him, the robbers started calling him to open the door for them to come in but he ignored them thinking the robbers could not break the door. But as determined as they were, the robbers started pounding the door with cement blocks and it finally gave in for them to enter.
Although it took them like an hour to break in, nobody could come to their aid as the menacing robbers kept firing warning shots.
He said to his surprise, the robbers ordered him to surrender the GHc12,000. He initially feigned ignorance of having such an amount in the house, but had to succumb to the painful beatings he was enduring in the hands of the robbers and he gave out the money. Had it not been the fact that time was not on the side of the robbers, his wife would have been raped, he narrated.
He is suspecting his taxi driver whom he had told about the money might have informed the robbers.
Meanwhile, doctors have earlier warned that delay in the boy’s operation can have dire consequences which compelled him to secure a loan for the surgery.
How to raise such an amount for the son’s operation has become a major headache to him. Mr. Danso has therefore made a passionate appeal to philanthropists to help his son to undergo surgery.
Saturday’s mass armed robbery incident is second in just four months and has put more fear in the residents after the police allegedly said the deplorable nature of road network is hampering police patrol in the community.
