Friday marks the third anniversary of the start of Delta Air Lines nonstop service between Accra’s Kotoka International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Due to the success of this route, eeffective 2 June 2010, Delta will launch a second nonstop service with three weekly flights between Accra and the world’s largest airline hub in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Delta was the first major U.S. carrier to operate scheduled nonstop service from Ghana and has flown more than 230,000 passengers between Accra and New York since 2006. Delta has recently re-timed its New York-JFK service to arrive earlier in the U.S., enabling passengers to connect more comfortably onto more than 50 destinations. New flight connections available in New York include Albany, N.Y., Syracuse, N.Y. and Denver; better-timed connections include Washington D.C., Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Boston.
“Ghana is an important market for Delta and we’re proud to have served Accra for three years,” said Bobby Bryan, Delta’s commercial manager for West and East Africa. “Customer feedback matters to us and we’ve responded by re-timing our schedule to improve our passengers’ travel t experience at JFK and provide them increased travel options. We’re delighted we’ll soon be offering even more nonstop service to the U.S. when our Atlanta flight launches next June.”
Delta services between Ghana and the United States are available for booking via travel agents and Delta’s dedicated reservations teams in Accra.
