Pharmaceutical giant, Kinapharma, is threatening legal action against the police administration and media houses it accuses of defamation.The company says its image has been seriously tarnished by a police operation at its warehouse and allegations that narcotic substances were being stored there.Tests on the substances proved negative and managers of the company have since demanded an apology from the police.But the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, which led the operation, insists it doesn’t owe the company an apology.Lawyer for Kinapharma, Kwame Agyepong Boateng, said litigation is one of the options being considered to restore the company’s image.“We are litigating to ensure that our defamed name is straightened,” he told Joy News’ Yaa Asamoah.Meanwhile, the Association of Ghana Industries has called on government to institute an enquiry into the police operation last week at the Kinapharma warehouse.President of the association, Tony Oteng-Gyasi, said the operation sends some bad signals to the investor community.Play attached audio for voices of the police and Mr Oteng Gyasi
