Caretaker coach of Hearts of Oak is full of gratitude after ex-board members of the club joined the team in Cape Coast on Wednesday.
Heart of Lions bore the brunt of a fearsome Hearts side who 4-0 on matchday 23.
The former goalkeeper’s trainer of the Black Stars was of the view that the presence of the former members was a psychological boost to the team.
“I appeal to all Hearts of Oak fans from the board right down to the supporters that they should rally behind the team because this is the time the players need them,” Ansah said.
Those present at the Robert Mensah stadium included Harry Zakkour, Isaac Tetteh, Stephen Akwettey, Ernest Quarshie, Alhaji Hearts and Nii Ayibonte II.
Ansah was, after the game, insistent that the support from within the rank and file of the club will see a quick scaling of their recent problems.
“When [the players] see [the former board members], psychologically it boosts their morale and today they came in their numbers so I thank them very much.”
“The former board members [and] former management members all came together as one Hearts of Oak family and today with their presence, we achieved a good success.”
The win was a relief for the Phobians, who were languishing in the relegation zone after Sunday's defeat to Aduana in Dormaa. The victory sees Hearts move eleventh on the log, two clear of safety.
Hearts will continue their survival march this Saturday when they play as guests to Edubiase in Obuasi.
