Kotoko skipper Amos Frimpong says the team's playing body owe it to fans to beat Ashgold on Sunday.
But he asks for caution, acknowledging that AshGold can be tricky opponents.
The Porcupines will welcome their title rivals to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. "We don’t face any problem or crisis in the team now but you know there are three things in football that is [a] win, [a] draw or [a] loss."
"But I assure Ghanaians that we are going to win this match and make the supporters in Kumasi very proud,” Frimpong pledges.
He also responded to accusers of the players, especially the increasing allegations of waning commitment to the Fabulous cause. “We are committed and ready to fight for the club. Looking at our game against WAFA and Berekum Chelsea we played a very good football, but we had a negative results on that day."
"There is no need for fans to press the panic button. We will definitely bounce back soon and put smiles on their faces so they should keep on supporting us, even at this difficult time."
“They should not worry at all. We will do everything possible to get a respectable position in the league and at least win the FA Cup for them,” he said.
Kotoko are in the bottom half of the league table, but have made the MTN FA Cup final slated for August 30.
