The Fountain of Life Chapel International, on Boxing Day, presented assorted items worth GHC1, 200 to the inmates of the Ho Prisons.
The items include; bags of rice, bags of maize, baskets of okro, gallons of oil and bathroom sandals.
Apostle Senyo Mawufemor Cudjoe, Founder and General Overseer of the Church, who presented the items, said the gesture was to make the inmates feel part of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
He said though the church was relatively young, it thought it wise to celebrate the festivity with inmates of the Prison with its meagre resources.
Apostle Cudjoe said social responsibility is one of the core values of the Church and was hopeful that the Church would make another donation in the middle part of next year to the Prison.
He commended Prison Officers for the good work they were doing and urged them to remain committed to the work.
Apostle Cudjoe and his team held a small interactive and prayer session with the inmates and urged them to put their trust in God.
Mr James Kaku, Assistant Director of Prisons, who received the items on behalf of the inmates, commended the Church for the initiative, describing it as timely, and especially, coming during the Christmas festivity.
"We can't express our gratitude enough to you, for thinking about us at this time, when many are enjoying themselves in their homes and have forgotten that some people are here," he said.
Mr Kaku said the items would be used for the purpose for which they were donated and appealed to other organizations and individuals to constantly remember the inmates in their plans.
