Twenty-six babies comprising 12 boys and 14 girls, were recorded at three health institutions in the Central Region on Christmas and Boxing days.
The health institutions are the Kasoa Health Centre, Winneba Government Hospital and the Our Lady of Grace at Breman Asikuma.
Madam Susana Babrah, Midwife and Ms. Philomena Annapa, Principal Midwife of the maternity ward of the Winneba Government Hospital told the Ghana News Agency that the health facility recorded five births on Christmas day and one on Boxing day.
At the Our Lady of Grace Hospital at Breman Asikuma, Sister Juliana Quason, Senior Superintendent Midwife of the hospital said six births were recorded on Christmas day and two on Boxing Day.
Madam Esther Quason of the Kasoa Health Centre said 12 children made up of six boys and six girls were delivered at the centre.
She said 11 were born on December 25, while a child was also born on Boxing Day, December 26.
