Agona Swedru was Tuesday reported generally calm after Monday's violence between a section of the Old Zongo community and youth of the town which claimed two lives.
"The situation is stable and normal activities are going on", a police source said.
Another source however said there were some fresh skirmishes involving the two factions Tuesday.
Though it was not clear what started the clash, it was believed to be linked to the Monday incident.
According to the police source, the combined police-military contingent deployed to maintain law and order following the violence, was still patrolling the town.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian Times has gathered that members of the Regional Security Council were Tuesday locked in a meeting at Swedru trying to map out a strategy to forestall further trouble in the area.
Factions of the Old Zongo community and youth of the town clashed on Monday following a dispute over a GH¢2.00 payment.
Mohammadu Iddrisu, 24 was alleged to have been lynched when he went to demand the payment of GH¢2.00 from the owner of a drinking spot, the Crocker's, for services he rendered.
The faction from Old Zongo were said to have been insulted by a gesture made by the owner of Crocker's spot towards them as they were burying Iddrisu. They attacked his bar and nearby Solace spot destroying their properties.
Another person whose name was given as Kofi Acheampong was also killed in the violence.
