Ghana football legend Mohammed Polo has called the current Hearts and Kotoko squads a disgrace following their poor performances in this season's First Capital Premier League.
Both clubs have, at various stages of the last fortnight, been flirting with relegation. At the moment, Hearts are 15th on the league table while Kotoko are eighth.
Polo says players of both sides should feel ashamed.
"It looks as if things have taken a very bad turn and the players are not pulling their weight. They are not fit and they always attribute their losses to others, that it was because of this or that.
"It's a disgraceful thing for a player of Hearts to find himself in such a situation or position. I think it is a disgrace to you as a player because Hearts and Kotoko are not small teams that you have to carry to that level."
The former Hearts superstar also sent a special word of caution to the Phobians's current players, reminding them of their fans' wrath should they be relegated.
"The players have to lift their game and know that Hearts are not small. If they are those that will take Hearts into relegation then it’s a disgrace to them as footballers. They have to ensure that they escape relegation because Hearts fans will never forgive them if that disaster ever happens.”
Hearts begin their fight to avoid the drop on Wednesday with an away game in Dansoman with Liberty.
