Schalke 04 outcast Kevin-Prince Boateng looks set for a stay in Europe following confirmed talks with Portuguese giants Sporting CP.
Boateng, 28, reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian giants Al-Ittihad last week to wait for suitors from Europe due to his strong belief in having another go in mainstream football.
Sporting Lisbon have reportedly opened talks with the Ghana international who has one more year with Schalke.
The club's Sporting Director, Horst Heldt has fuelled talks of the former Milan man's impending move to join the Lions.
"We have heard that Sporting is interested in Boateng and we are dealing with them. It is very likely he will join them” he is quoted as saying.
Boateng could be sold for a fee around €5 million.
