Ghana's Abdul Majeed Waris has officially left Turkish side Trabzonspor for Lorient.
The Ligue 1 side won the battle for the highly-rated forward who was also wanted by Stade Rennes.
The move to France marks a return to the league where the Ghanaian had success with a loan spell at Valenciennes in the second half of the 2013-14 season. He scored nine times in 16 games at the time.
The move is a four-year deal and it marks a leap of faith for the French side who are reported to be hopeful for the 23-year old's tenure despite niggling injuries in the past year.
Lorient, which is where Jordan Ayew had a good spell only last season with 12 goals.
Snubbing Rennes
Waris had been linked with a move to Rennes over the past two months with fresh reports hinting a new bid from Lorient who were recently forced to sell compatriot Jordan Ayew to English side Aston Villa.
Respected outlet, L'Equipe, on Monday had reported that the player rejected a move to the Stade du Moustoir over its synthetic playing surface.
Waris had struggled to settle down with Turkish side Trabzonspor since moving over from Spartak Moscow last summer.
