His club may be a hair's breath from relegation, but Hearts defender Philip Boampong insists they'll not go down with four games to go.
Hearts are on the verge of being relegated from the domestic top-flight having secured just 32 points in the ongoing First Capital Plus Premier League.
The historically Ghanaian giants, who are nothing close to that at the moment, are currently 15th position having recorded just eight wins in 26 league games. The abysmal ran has raised concerns about a possible demotion to the lower tiers.
But U20 World Cup defender Philip Boampong, who has been warming the bench in Hearts' recent matches due to the incredible form of Inusah Musah and captain Robin Gnagne, says nobody should dream that his side will be relegated.
“Hearts of Oak for to go to relegation? No, it will not happen. Hearts is a big club in Ghana here and we'll do everything possible remain in the league,” he told Adom Sports.
“Our fans will not even forgive us. So we the players we have said to ourselves that we're goning to fight till the last drop. Have you forgotten our 'never say die' motto?
"We will definitely survive so l will urge our loyal fans to be behind in these difficult times,” he added.
“Hearts and Kotoko draw the largest crowds to the pitch, so relegation for either side will take some shine out of the league."
The Phobians limped to 1-0 win over Liberty Professionals on Wednesday but was still not enough to take them from second from bottom, which is where they were before kickoff.
They'll need to beat fellow-relegation threatened Bechem United on Sunday to boost their hopes of surviving chances.
