With three matches to end this season’s First Capital Plus Premier League, a member of the Ghana FA says this season’s league is the most competitive league in the last decade.
So far, there is no clear winner as any of the top four clubs can mathematically win the league or be relegated.
Aside already relegated BA United, as many as seven teams can also all exit the top flight. This, for Ghana FA spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie Daara, makes the season one of a kind.
“I will probably say it’s the most competitive we’ve seen in many years. Who would have imagined at this point that even the fourth placed team on the relegation table is relegation threatened,” Saanie told Joy Sports.
“They are all potential candidates for relegation. It tells you that something has changed and it’s changed positively.”
“I spent the last two weeks watching the league matches, going to the stadium and taking some days off to watch matches on television.”
“The coverage is outstanding, the talent on display is heart-warming.”
The league enters round 28 this weekend with some intriguing fixtures across the eight league centres.
