The Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has denied that a second person died from injuries sustained in an inferno that engulfed the loading bay of the refinery.
Public Relations Manager, Aba Lokko, tells Joy News the burnt victim is still alive but in critical condition.
There were earlier reports that a second person had died from his injuries.
The fire destroyed three of the loading racks, claiming one life in the process.
Mrs Lokko earlier told Joy News fuel supply will not be affected despite the fire.
She said although oil refineries around the world are prone to fires, TOR had ensured the highest safety measures at the refinery, making Tuesday's disaster a surprising one.
Meanwhile, President John Atta Mills is scheduled to visit the refinery later Wednesday to assess the extent of damage caused by the fire outbreak.
The President should get firsthand briefing on the extent of damage and any preliminary findings about the cause of the fire.
