The Ghana Education Service (GES) says candidates who sat for this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) but were not captured by the Computerised School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) will be posted to selected Senior High Schools Monday.

According to the GES over 109,806 students missed the opportunity to be placed by the system during the first batch of postings.

The CSSPS placed 329, 416 out of the 439, 222 candidates who wrote this year’s examination in the various Junior High Schools.

Acting Public Relations Officer of the GES Rev. Jonathan Bettey told Joy News efforts are underway to ensure every student gets admission by the end of the month.

“The second placement is underway; by Monday students can go and get their placement. They will not sit in the house without getting school”, he said.

Rev. Bettey denied reports that some candidates were posted to schools they did not select.

“We allow students to select four choices and where the schools they have been placed are schools they themselves have selected. We make sure that their choice of school is where we send them to and this is done according to the raw score of their results”.

He however added that the GES will not bow to pressure to change schools for students who do not get their preferred choices.

“There wouldn’t be any influence from any quarters, we will not allow anybody to go to the placement centre to look for wherever this computer is being used to place the students for any influence”, he said.
