A member of Tiger Eye PI investigative team who was rescued yesterday by the police in an abduction incident has told JOY NEWS he was abducted by five persons in Tamale yesterday.
It is still not clear why he was targeted, but suspicions are high it has something to do with the group’s recent expose on the Judiciary scandal.
According to him five men abducted and confined him to a single bedroom in Tamale, the Northern Region at a location called ‘Filling Point’ in Wurishe a suburb of Tamale and close to the Tamale Polytechnic.
“One of my kidnappers was arrested and the others run away when they saw the police. They were five in number but there are also names of their cohorts and I am sure the police will get to the bottom of the matter” he indicated.
The incident he says happened around 9:40am when the group accosted him while he was leaving his brother’s house and confined him for about 40 minutes.
The police intervened swiftly to rescue him after news broke on JOY NEWS and MULTI TV’s news analysis show NEWSFILE that he had been kidnapped.
It is still not clear why he was targeted, but there are suspicions it might have something to do with the group’s recent exposé on the Judiciary scandal.
“I was rescued between the hours of 10 and 12am. Asked whether or not he was physically abused in anyway, he answered in the negative but said they threatened to harm him if he did not yield.
He added that he feels safe at the moment but would not disclose his location.
Asked whether or not he feels traumatised by the turn of events Mr. Hussein answered in the affirmative.
He was however unsure about the safety of his family saying “I’m yet to speak with them but I will speak with the Police about that.
“I wrote my statement about the whole incident to the police and I trust that they will do a professional job in this matter”, he said.
