Former President Jerry John Rawlings has endorsed his daughter, Zenator Rawlings to win the Klottey Korle Parliamentary primaries of the NDC.
At his daughter’s campaign launch, Jerry Rawlings urged electorates of the governing National Democratic Congress to vote competent candidates who can guarantee victory for the party in the 2016 elections.
“If we do not change our attitude in the party it will be difficult for us to improve our electoral fortunes”, he said.
Dr Zenator Rawlings is seeking to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Nii Armah Ashittey in the Klottey Korle constituency in the NDC’s upcoming primaries on November, 7 2015.
The former president said it will be detrimental to vote wrong people to represent the party. He urged the people to vote for Zenator.
“She does not have selfish tendencies, she is a selfless person and that is why I love and respect her so pleases vote for her”, he stated.
Speaking to Joy News, the parliamentary aspirant said she will win the mandate of the electorate because of her policies and not money.
“We are not in the business of sharing money for votes nor are we in the business of making promises we cannot keep”, she said.
Dr. Zenator Rawlings added that she is committing herself to work together with the members of the constituency to make something positive happen.
