The Tema Circuit Court 'B' on Wednesday sentenced a 22-year-old labourer to 18 months imprisonment for stealing pipes from a building site.
Bismark Asare was convicted on his own plea of guilty to the charge of stealing.
Prosecution told the court presided over by Mrs Amanda Aikins that the complainant was a security man residing at Adenta while Asare also resided at Manet Cottage on the Spintex Road.
Police Chief Inspector Ben Agbedanu said on March 12 this year, the complainant visited his building site at Manet Cottage and detected that the pipes kept in the building were missing.
The prosecution said a witness in the case informed the complainant that he saw the convict stealing the items.
Consequently, the complainant reported the matter at the Sakumono Police Station and Asare was arrested.
He admitted stealing the items in his caution statement.
