Construction works on the Ayigya affordable housing project in the Ashanti regional capital is set to resume before the end of the year.
This follows the acquisition of a 30 million dollar facility by the State Housing Corporation for the project.
The affordable housing project, an initiative of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration is at various stages of completion in different parts of the country due to lack of funds.
Deputy Water Resources, Works and Housing Minister, Samson Ahi tells Joy News, the 30 million facility will go a long way to speedily complete the project.
“We have the facility now to start work, I believe all things being equal we should start work before the year ends because we’ve done all the necessary paper work.”
Samson Ahi also disclosed that government will soon take delivery of 900 out of 5000 housing units been constructed for the security agencies.
“In conjunction with a Brazilian company, we are doing about 5000 housing units at Ningo-Prampram. The first phase which is 1500 will be completed by June next year”.
He said government is also collaborating with other companies to construct about 10,000 more housing units.
