The Asokore-Mampong district court has remanded into prison custody a 23 year old woman who attempted to kill her baby girl at Abirem in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti.
Attaa Adomah dumped the three-month old Ama Rose in a 9 foot deep septic tank, filled with water to just about 6 inches.
She admits to attempting to eliminate the daughter to convince an old lover to take her back.
A timely intervention of Adomah’s parents, community leaders and police led to rescue of the baby who is now on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The 23 year old appeared in court looking extremely sorrowful and without a lawyer.
Magistrate at the Asokore-Mampong District Court, Her worship Mrs. Portia Molly Amafo-Salia therefore adjourned the case, advising the suspect’s family to consult LEGAL AID for a pro-bono lawyer at the next hearing on November, 18.
Prosecutor, Inspector Edward Kwame Adade tells Luv News the docket has been forwarded to the Attourney General’s department for advice since it’s a first degree felony.
Meanwhile Attaa Adomah is being allowed to breastfeed the baby under guard at the Komfo Anokye following a request by health authorities.
