Church leaders across the globe have been asked to turn the focus of their congregation to the original assignment of Jesus Christ, which has to do with making of disciples.
The Chaplain of Pentecost Theological Seminary, Rev. Emmanuel Oppong Donkor, who gave the advice when ministering to the 2015/2016 batch of ministerial students during a Chapel Service on Wednesday 14, October 2015 said, most people walking down the streets of most communities are not thinking about the eternal destiny of their soul.
The pressure of a busy and stressful world, he noted, is pressing heavily on some individuals, who are looking for a greater sense of balance and ways to manage priorities.
“They are thinking about something; usually something of immediate concern namely jobs, relationships, health issues, kids and finance,” Rev. Oppong Donkor stated.
He continued: “If the Gospel of Christ is really relevant to all aspects of life, then we need to show the unbelievers how it is relevant to their lives as well.”
The Chaplain has therefore appealed to churches to put in place strategies to ensure the birthing of new Christian disciples every time on all occasions.
“There is only one essential thing a church must do and that is go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in the way of Christ’s life,” he further stressed.
He concluded: “Speak to unreached people about the things that will encourage them in order to get their attention. If your message is from their point of view, it will become relevant to them.”
