The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has scorned Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ attacks on government and president John Mahama, accusing her of doing the bidding of the NPP.
A statement issued by the NDC Deputy General Secretary in charge of Operations, Koku Anyidoho said the former First Lady’s action was to divert attention from the troubles in the NPP.
“It is a common knowledge that she is in cahoots with the fast-sinking NPP and because the party is under serious pressure, she has decided to attack the NDC so we go into a dog fight with her to create an escape route for NPP,” Mr. Anyihoho said in a statement.
Mrs. Rawlings has accused the government under the late Prof. Attah Mills and John Mahama of virtually supervising some of the “most unspeakable crimes that we have seen in this country”.
But the governing party wants its communicators to ignore the former first lady.
Koku Anyidoho said the communicators must resort to the use of “no comment” in all their interactions with the media in relation to the Mrs. Rawlings’ attacks.
The response, the party noted, is to “ignore her and stay focused on our game plan”.
Later in an interview with Joy News, Koku Anyidoho said after the endorsement of President Mahama the party is committed to pursuing the agenda against the elephant (NPP) and would not be distracted by any rabbit.
