Housing company, Friendship Estates has commissioned affordable houses for middle-class Ghanaians.
The modern gated estate christened the ‘Friendship Village’ is sited at Ayi Mensah, near Aburi, and will have houses of three variations: two-bedroom detached, two-bedroom semi- detached and three-bedroom detached.
The three-bedrooms would also be built as half-storey, with an accompanying Maid Suite.
Mr. Alex Bruks, chairman of Dalex Finance Company Ltd, disclosed this when he unveiled a model representation of the village in Accra.
He observed with grave concern the rising cost of housing especially in Accra and its immediate environs, and lauded management of Friendship Estates for introducing this affordable Estate.
He therefore tasked the managers of the project to ensure uniformity in the designs of the buildings, to drive the course of affordability.
Throwing more light on the project, Mr. Ernie Thompson, Senior Sales Manager of Friendship Village disclosed that the village will have first-class infrastructure such as underground drainage, tarred roads with concrete underlayment, purified water systems and a fire hydrant.
The site for the village, he explained, was chosen strategically, “because apart from the panoramic view that one gets of the Aburi Mountains and the Peduase Lodge, about 60 houses will be developed in a wooded enclave away from the hustle and bustle of Accra.
The site is a 10-minute drive from Accra, where commercial activities are undertaken.
