NCA ANNOUNCES WINNER FOR ONE FREQUENCY SPECTRUM LOT IN THE 800MHZ BAND
The National Communications Authority (NCA) announces for the information of the general public that Scancom Limited has emerged as the winner in the auction process for one frequency spectrum lot in the 800 MHz Band for mobile services.
This is the result of the process which begun early this year in May. Four (4) companies submitted applications, however, three (3) companies were unsuccessful in their efforts.
The transparent process which was conducted under high security was overseen and managed by an independent auctioneer, KPMG.
Scancom Limited, thus, have been provisionally awarded one lot of 2 x 10 MHz in the 800 MHz Band, pending their fulfilment of other requirements.
NCA will in due course take a decision on the other unallocated block.
The National Communications Authority takes this opportunity to thank all applicants and other stakeholders for their interest and support during this process.
