It amazing to realize a man who does not know his hometown, even though he's been told of it and has been shown the rich historic line of his genealogy. Such man is really lost indeed.
Over the past weeks, one of the respected persons in the corporate world ,the now former CEO of UT Holdings, Mr Prince Kofi Amoabeng has made a categorical statement that he does not "believe in Heaven” or Hell even though he's a Christian.
“I believe in God, I believe there is a creator; if you don’t like, call it nature but for me as a Christian, it’s God… I go to church once in a long while, when there is a wedding or a funeral. I don’t believe in the afterlife, I believe that you have to do what is right and that your heaven and earth is here, I don’t think there is anything anywhere" - a quote attributed to Kofi Amoabeng.
Let me quickly establish that I am not addressing his person, but his view expressed.
It obvious that the term or the word "Christian" has been long misinterpreted and perhaps degraded into the lowly levels of casual church attendance. Mr. Amoabeng somehow is encouraged that attending a wedding held is a church is somehow a pass mark for Christianity just as well as when he attended a burial service in church.

Mr. Prince Kofi Amoabeng
This can't simply be the meaning of the word "Christian".
In the book of Acts 11:26, where the background of the term "Christians" is begotten, it suggests a people who showed in their attitude and character the very nature of Jesus Christ( Love, Forgive, Righteousness, Holiness etc).
And which people are called "Christians"? The very people that have received Christ as their Lord and personal saviour. In Romans 10:9 (King James Bible)
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
It will be amazing for a Christian to say he does not believe in Heaven or Hell.
In Luke 23:43 (Holman Christian Standard Bible) “And He said to him, "I assure you: Today you will be with Me in paradise."
And in Revelations 20:12-15 :
“I saw the dead, both unimportant and important, standing in front of the throne, and books were open. Another book was opened—the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to their actions, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades ( hell) gave up the dead that were in them, and all were judged according to their actions.
"Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. (This is the second death—the lake of fire.) Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
Lastly, the authority of the Christian is the word of God. The word of God is the standard of his living.
Or try 2 Timothy 3:16: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness".
John 15:7-8,14-15: “If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you can ask for anything you want, and you’ll receive it. This is how my Father is glorified, when you produce a lot of fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
“You are my friends, if you do what I command you. I don’t call you servants anymore, because a servant doesn’t know what his master is doing. But I’ve called you friends, because I’ve made known to you everything that I’ve heard from my Father”.
Our intellect, social standings in life as well as family backgrounds cannot disprove the realities and facts of scripture or the word of God.
