Ghana Life Insurane MD Sweeps laurels

The Managing Director of Ghana Life Insurance, Mr Ivan Avereyireh has recently joined the ‘Insurance Hall of Fame’ as a Fellow of the prestigious West African Insurance Institute (WAII) on December 4, 2015.

He is one of nine selected deserving insurance practitioners across the West African sub-region who distinguished themselves in various capacities towards the growth of the industry this year.

Mr Avereyireh is the current President of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA) as well as the President of the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA), the sub-regional Association of Insurance companies in Anglophone West Africa. .

The West African Insurance Institute (WAII) decorated Mr Avereyireh with the Fellowship at an august ceremony in The Gambia by a Representative of the President of the country, with a plaque from the Institute.

The WAII fellowship is a prestigious one instituted in 1994 and has members such as H.E. Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, President of the Repubic of Sierra Leone,  Prof. J.O Irukwu, a Doyen of Insurance in Nigeria and a few Ghanaians including the Commissioner of Insurance, Ms Lydia Lariba Bawa and a former GIA President, Kwame Gazo-Agbenyadzie, awarded in the past.

As if by design, Mr Avereyireh, the Ghana Life Insurance number one strategic arrow-head, a Chartered Insurer par excellence was also awarded in September 2015 with the Nobles International Award by the West Africa Nobles Forum for ‘being an Eminent West African who upholds the virtues of Honesty, Integrity and Accountability’, for his show of exemplary leadership among others.
