His life-long desire is to make people happy and smile but the choice of his career and the rather tough decisions he must make, often make people cry.
It hurts him when they cry but once they have vowed to sell on the streets, build on waterways and create slums and sex cottages in Accra, he has no choice but to clean up the mess.
The bearded Mayor of Accra, Alfred Vanderpuije, took his turn on Bola Ray’s Drive Time Personality Profile segment on Thursday and relished the good old days when he had to skip school for ‘toε.’ (cinema)
He grew up in Mamprobi, swam in the Chemu Lagoon at a tender age and now directs traffic occasionally as the Mayor.
He wants a perfect Accra where children will not raise their own children; where the tap will always flow; roads without potholes; and calls without call drops.
Some call him an ambitious dreamer but he says once you think it, do it. He hopes to create a sleepless Accra, and rolled out how he intends do it in the attached audio.
